Dale Earnhardt

When NASCAR comes up, the name Dale Earnhardt inevitably follows. The “Intimidator” got his nickname from the fans (and his fellow drivers) because he rarely passed up a chance to drive “with contact.”

Anyone who didn’t make room fast enough when the black No. 3 appeared in the rearview mirror found themselves in the wall all the sooner…

He won the championship title seven times, a feat he shares only with “The King” Richard Petty and Jimmie Johnson.

During his career of more than 27 years as a race car driver, Dale Earnhardt competed in over 800 races in the NASCAR series.

On February 18, 2001, “The Man in Black” was involved in a crash on the last lap of the Daytona 500 that took his life.
“NASCAR has lost its greatest driver ever,” NASCAR chairman Bill France Jr. announced on the evening of February 18.

Dale Earnhardt was always a staunch opponent of safety measures. He consistently wore an open-face jet helmet and refused to wear the “head and neck support system” (HANS), which was originally developed for NASCAR drivers.

After Earnhardt’s death, NASCAR made various safety measures mandatory, so that today’s drivers are protected as well as possible in their workplace.

The Model Kit

This 1991 model kit from Monogram is a Chevy Lumina from the Winston Cup Series of that era. The kit is largely identical to item number 2927 +, but without the additional garage parts included in that one.

The model kit is molded in black with clear and chrome-plated parts and includes a complete “Goodwrench” decal sheet.

The car is painted in a single color, which makes the build fairly simple overall. This legendary Monogram Chevy Lumina fits perfectly into the NASCAR 124 rules.

Notice

This model kit is not a toy for children!
It contains small parts that can easily be swallowed. Never leave children under 14 unattended with a model kit like this!

Please note that the included decals may be brittle due to their age.
If you want to use them, you should pre-treat the decals before soaking them in water and coat them with a suitable film!
I do not provide any warranty for the fit, condition, or functionality of the decals!
