FAQ

Answers to the questions I am asked most often. Yours is not here? Write to me.

What kind of model kits do you sell?

Fishwish Racing carries kits by Monogram, Revell, AMT Ertl, Jo-Han, Lindberg and Polar Lights – and now and then kits by other makers. Who knows?

The range: race cars and race trucks of the American NASCAR series (Winston Cup, Nextel Cup, Sprint Cup, Craftsman/Camping World Truck Series, Nationwide Series) plus a few street and muscle cars.

The kit I want is sold out?

Too bad. Many kits here are pure gold dust: I am happy every time I find a rare model somewhere in the world – and so is whoever grabs it first.

Tip: on the page of a sold-out item you can sign up to be notified when it is back.

Can I pre-order a kit?

Nope – what you see is what there is!

Seriously: write to me if you are looking for a particular kit. I can source a lot within a short time.

Are all kits new?

Most kits are factory-sealed. Still, some of them are as old as Methuselah, so I cannot guarantee that included decals are still usable, all parts are attached to the sprues or the windows are scratch-free.

Boxes show anything from hardly any to clear shelf wear – 20–30 years on a shelf and a trip halfway around the world leave their marks.

If you want to be sure, write to me before buying and I will send you a condition grade of the box (1–5). I cannot say anything about the contents of a sealed box, of course. Used or opened kits are always marked in the description.

Do you buy kits?

Sure! Preferably complete collections of nice kits, but single kits too.

They should fit the range: stock cars, NASCAR cars and race trucks of any year, or American street and muscle cars up to about 1978 – in good condition, ideally factory-sealed. Opened boxes only if the kit is 100% complete and unbuilt.

Just send me a message via the contact form.

Can I reserve an item?

Of course – by buying it. Most kits exist only once, so everyone gets the same chance.

In short: first come, first built.

Is there a discount for buying several kits?

Absolutely – from 100 kits you get a free bag of gummy bears! (Maybe from 99, we will see …)

How can I pay?

You will find all current payment methods under Payment methods. For bank transfer you receive the bank details with the order confirmation and the invoice once the payment has arrived.

How do I know you will not run off with my money?

Of course I will! With the unimaginable margins on an average item price of just under 30 euros I have long since bought a secret island in the Caribbean and work from a deck chair, cocktail in hand, while you read this.

Hello?! Many modellers and slot racers know me personally, know where I live – and are glad I offer these kits (and actually ship them). I follow the principles of the honourable merchant.

Which countries do you ship to?

Germany and Switzerland. Since August 2026 the EU Packaging Regulation applies; for every other EU country I would have to register separately – not feasible for a small specialist shop. Details under Shipping & delivery.

But I live somewhere else …

What can I say – other countries have inhabitants too. Delivery to an address in Germany (friends, family, a parcel forwarder) is always possible. And if you have another idea, write to me and we will find a solution.

How much is shipping?

Germany

Free shipping from 20.00 €

Below that, 2.00 € per order.

Model kits ship as an insured DHL package with tracking; decals ship in a bend-protected envelope via Deutsche Post.

Switzerland

DHL Paket, insured and with tracking. The price depends on the total weight (items plus packaging) and is calculated automatically at checkout.

Weight up toShipping
2 kg19.49 €
5 kg26.99 €
10 kg34.99 €
20 kg48.99 €
30 kg62.99 €

Packaging is factored in at a flat 0.30 kg. Prices exclude German VAT (tax-free export). You pay Swiss import tax and any fees upon delivery.

Other EU countries

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) has applied since 08/12/2026. To ship to other EU countries, I would have to register for packaging separately in each country. That isn't feasible for a small specialty shop, so for now I only ship to Germany and Switzerland.

Do you live somewhere else? Delivery to a German address (e.g., friends, a package forwarding service) is possible at any time.

Which carrier do you use?

Kits only as insured DHL parcels, decals by letter via Deutsche Post. No exceptions. No discussion.

How long does shipping take?

If I knew that, I could walk on water …

As soon as your money has arrived, your parcel is on its way. In Germany it usually arrives within 2–3 working days, in Switzerland within 1–2 weeks. If nothing has arrived after a reasonable time (and it is not the pre-Christmas rush), let me know and I will start a trace.
