Bob Senneker
Bob Senneker was born on December 12, 1944, in Grand Rapids, MI, the fourth of nine children. At the age of 18, he bought a stock ’48 Ford from a local dealer for $35, fixed it up, and drove it in his first race at the Grand Rapids Speedrome on June 1, 1962 – and won! Because his parents did not allow him to race, he competed under the pseudonym “Bob Sacony”.
In 1968, Bob Senneker took part for the first time in the “Great American Race”, the legendary Daytona 500. Although he had to yield to drivers such as Cale Yarborough, Bobby Allison, Al Unser, A.J. Foyt, and Richard Petty, he still managed to cross the finish line in 13th place.
In 1988, Senneker was inducted into the Michigan Motor Sports Hall of Fame. On September 1, 1998, the Late Model racing and Sprint Cup legend drove his last ASA race at Southern National Speedway and won his farewell race as well.
The Model Kit
This very rare Revell model kit from 1989 is a Chevrolet Camaro in the ASA Pro-Am Leasing livery.
The parts are molded in metallic blue and clear. Included are chrome-plated parts and black vinyl tires.
A very nice model for your display case or for building an unusual slot car. The Camaro’s low center of gravity promises excellent handling on Carrera or wooden tracks.
Notice
This model kit is not a toy for children!
It contains small parts that can easily be swallowed. Never leave children under 10 years of age unsupervised with a model kit like this!
Please note that the included decals may be brittle due to their age. If you wish to use them, you should definitely pretreat the decals before soaking them in water and coat them with a suitable decal film! I do not provide any warranty for the usability of the decals!
