The 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo and Darrell Waltrip

Darrell Lee Waltrip was born on February 5, 1947.
The three-time NASCAR champion (1981, 1982, 1985) still holds a number of NASCAR records, countless honors and awards, and is an indispensable part of the racing scene.

However, Darrell Waltrip’s racing career did not always go smoothly. After founding his own race team in the early ’90s, he discovered how hard it was to be a driver and an owner at the same time. As a result, despite numerous successes, his team was on the verge of bankruptcy in the late ’90s. After moving to Dale Earnhardt, Inc. (DEI), he said that his mistake had been thinking like a driver and not like an owner.

The Model Kit

This Revell model kit from 1998 is a Chevy Monte Carlo.
The kit is molded in white with clear and chrome-plated parts and includes a complete “Parts America” decal sheet as well as a limited-edition glossy photo of Darrell Waltrip.

The car is painted in two colors, which makes the overall assembly fairly easy. This Revell Chevy Monte Carlo fits perfectly into the NASCAR 124 rules.
