Robert Alan “Bobby” Labonte (born May 8, 1964, in Corpus Christi, Texas), the 2000 Winston Cup champion, drives the #52 Chevrolet for HScott Motorsports in select NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.
At the tender age of 5, Labonte started racing in the Quarter Midget class. Quarter Midgets are roughly the size of karts, but they have bodywork and a roll bar.

Since his debut in the Busch Series in 1982, Bobby Labonte has racked up 2 championships, 32 individual wins, and over 300 top-10 finishes in nearly 1,000 races across the Busch Series, the Winston Cup, the Nationwide Series, the Camping World Truck Series, and the Sprint Cup.

Bobby and his older brother Terry Labonte are the only brothers in NASCAR history who have both won a Sprint Cup championship. Bobby was also the first driver to win both the Winston Cup championship (2000) and the Busch Series championship (1991). He also won the IROC title in 2001.

The Model Kit

In 1999, the “Small Soldiers” took over Joe Gibbs Racing. To promote the new Universal Studios and DreamWorks movie “Small Soldiers,” Bobby Labonte’s Pontiac Grand Prix was given this extraordinary design, with the film’s main character, Chip Hazard, on the hood.

This 1999 Revell model kit is a Pontiac Grand Prix. This Pontiac body style was used from 1996 to 2003, after which Pontiac withdrew from the Cup series.
Revell introduced the first version of the tooling for the 1997 season and produced the corresponding Pontiac Grand Prix model kits, each with slight facelifts, up to this final edition in 2002.

It is one of the few bodies that may be hollowed out under the NASCAR124 rules if the kit is to be built into a slot racing car. This allows for optimal weight distribution.

The 93 parts are molded in white and clear. Black Goodyear vinyl tires are included.

A very nice model for the display case, or for building a high-performance slot car under the Sakatsu / Thunder rules.

Notice

This model kit is not a toy for children!
It contains small parts that can easily be swallowed. Never leave children under 10 years of age unattended with a model kit like this!

Please note that the included decals may be brittle due to their age. If you want to use them, be sure to pre-treat the decals before soaking them in water and coat them with a suitable film!
I accept no liability whatsoever for the fit, condition, or functionality of the decals!
