Todd Bodine
Todd Bodine (born February 27, 1964) is the younger brother of former racing drivers Geoffrey and Brett Bodine. Because of his distinctive bald head, he earned the nickname “The Onion.”
He made his debut in 1986 in the Busch Series at Martinsville for Pistone Racing. After qualifying in 27th place, he dropped out of the race with engine failure.
Bodine competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (champion in 2006 and 2010), the Nationwide Series (runner-up in 1997) and the Sprint Cup Series (best finish: 20th in 1994).
The Model Kit
This exceptionally beautiful model kit from Revell Monogram, released in 1997, is a Pontiac Grand Prix. This Pontiac body style was raced from 1996 to 2003. At the end of the 2003 season, Pontiac withdrew from NASCAR’s Cup series.
Revell introduced the first body mold for the 1997 season and, with slight facelifts each time, produced the corresponding Pontiac Grand Prix model kits up to this final 2002 edition.
It is one of the few bodies that, under the NASCAR124 rules, may be sanded out if the model kit is to be built into a slot racing car. This allows for optimal weight distribution.
The 93 parts are molded in white and clear. Black Goodyear vinyl tires are included.
A very nice model for display in your showcase or for building a high-performance slot car according to the Sakatsu / Thunder rules.
