The 1988 Quaker State Buick and Ricky Rudd
This generation of the Buick Regal replaced the Grand National for the 1987 NASCAR season and remained in use until the end of the 1991 season. Buick then left NASCAR, followed by Oldsmobile the following year.
In 1988, Ricky Rudd replaced Morgan Shepherd in the Quaker State Buick Regal carrying number 26. The race car was owned by drag racing legend Kenny Bernstein. Throughout the entire 1988 season, Rudd struggled with engine problems and finished the season in 11th place – his worst finish in eight years.
After his only win of the 1989 season, Ricky Rudd moved to Hendrick Motorsports and took over the #5 Levi Garrett Chevy Lumina.
The model kit is highly detailed and includes, among other features, a complete NASCAR roll cage, a custom-fitted speedway exhaust system, and Goodyear Eagle racing tires.
The parts trees are molded in green, with chrome-plated and clear parts. The hood can be displayed open.
