Dale Earnhardt
Dale Earnhardt is THE legend of NASCAR. “The Intimidator,” the driver of the #3, thrilled the fans, intimidated his fellow drivers, and shaped the American Cup Series like hardly anyone else.
He was born on April 29, 1951, in Kannapolis, North Carolina, and died in a crash in the final turn of the legendary Daytona 500, the “Great American Race,” on February 18, 2001. To this day, fans and commentators fall silent on the third lap of the Daytona 500 and hold up three fingers in memory of Dale Earnhardt.
His black #3 Chevy was and still is the trademark of Dale Earnhardt, the father of Dale Earnhardt Jr., who won the Daytona 500 for the second time in the 2014 season. During his 27-year racing career, Dale Earnhardt competed in 676 Cup races, scored 76 wins in the Cup series alone, and became a seven-time champion.
The Model Kit
This Revell model kit from 2001 is a Chevrolet Monte Carlo in arguably the most famous design in NASCAR – the black #3. This is the car Dale Earnhardt drove in his final race.
The 103 parts are molded in white and clear. Chrome-plated parts and black vinyl tires are included.
In addition to the Goodwrench design, decals for the Oreo paint scheme that Earnhardt ran in the Shootout at Daytona are included.
A very nice model for your display case, or for building a high-performing slot car according to the Sakatsu / Thunder rules. Compared to other NASCAR model kits, the body is relatively light. This makes it easy to reach the required minimum weight for the NASCAR124 slot racing series.
