The Chrysler Atlantic
The Atlantic was introduced by Chrysler as a concept car in 1995 and is clearly influenced by the Bugatti Atlantique and other opulent vehicles of the 1930s (Talbot-Lago, Delahaye, Delage, etc.). It features an inline 8-cylinder engine built from two 4-cylinder engines from the Dodge Neon.
According to legend, Chrysler’s then design chief Tom Gale and president Bob Lutz served as judges at the famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Various exciting and less exciting concept cars were presented and judged.
Afterward, the two judges decided that Chrysler should present a concept car the following year “that would put all the other concepts back on their trailers.”
The other manufacturers did not actually load their cars back onto the trailers, but the Atlantic was still the highlight of the next event.
This show car is still used by Chrysler today and causes a great stir wherever it appears. A milestone of Chrysler’s earlier, innovative and bold design!
The Model Kit
With a skill level of 2, this model kit is also suitable for less experienced model builders and is wonderful for “father and son” projects.
Build an extraordinary, high-performance slot car from it.
The sprues are molded in metallic gray, with chrome-plated and clear parts.
Notice
This model kit is not a children’s toy! It contains small parts that can easily be swallowed. Never leave children under 10 years of age unsupervised with a model kit like this!
Please note that the included decals may be brittle due to their age. If you wish to use them, you should definitely pre-treat the decals before soaking them and cover them with a suitable film! I do not accept any liability for the usability of the decals.
